  1. General Educational Philosophy

    1. Music gives me great enjoyment and a sense of accomplishment, and I want to share that with my students. My goals are the development of solid musical skills and to foster the enjoyment of music.

    2. Attitude and effort are the student’s greatest responsibilities; Although I can coach and guide students, each student is ultimately responsible for their own progress and advancement.

    3. Progress is made by combining small accomplishments into long-term progress- mindful consistent practice is the key and students will achieve the best results with regular lessons.

  2. Attendance and Tuition

    1. Lessons are offered for 30 or 60 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, in alternate weeks, or on an ala carte basis.  Tuition is due in advance.

      1. Lessons scheduled weekly or in alternate weeks are discounted based on prepayment of blocks of four or eight consecutive weeks as they allow me to efficiently organize my schedule and offer the most economical relationship. Any schedule deviations must be arranged at this time.

      2. Students who schedule ala carte will be required to pre-pay their lesson a minimum of 24-hours in advance via Paypal (jeremyc.guitar@gmail.com) or Venmo (@JC-guitar) or the lesson slot may not be held.

        1. Ala carte lessons are not subject to a discounted rate and scheduling preference will be given to students scheduling consecutive sessions.

  3. Missed Lessons

    1. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled lesson for any reason 24-hour notice must be given or the lesson is considered forfeit; in case of illness a shorter notice may be accepted at my sole discretion.

      1. If notice of a missed lesson is given, a student can self-schedule a makeup lesson in any available slot (notated on my online calendar) within four weeks of the missed lesson.

    2. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule the makeup lessons based on the available slots and within the specified timeframe.

      1. If no makeup is scheduled, that lesson will be considered forfeit and no further tuition adjustments or accommodations will be considered.

      2. Students may contact each other to work out slot exchanges and trades; I have no responsibility for scheduling in these situations.

    3. If I am unable to attend a scheduled lesson or the teaching area is inaccessible due to weather conditions or power outage,  lessons will be rescheduled or credited toward the next block of lessons; refunds will not be given.

  4. Instruments and Materials

    1. Students without functioning instruments may forfeit their lesson time at my sole discretion. I do not provide instruments for students.  If I am able to make repairs to instruments I may do so in lieu of instructional time.

      1. Students are encouraged to maintain a stock of supplies (strings, reeds, picks, etc) I may or may not have these on hand for students to use.

  5. Expirations and Forfeits

    1. Unscheduled pre-paid lessons are considered void after 60 days and unscheduled makeup lessons will be considered void after 4 weeks. No refunds or other arrangements will be considered.

    2. Students with 2 or more  "no-show"  occurrences will forfeit their lesson slot and any remaining tuition balance without further notification.

    3. Students with balances due longer than 14 days may forfeit their lesson slot without further notification at my sole discretion.

    4. Students with balances due may not schedule additional lessons without my approval.
